Turning the graphene biosensor literature into a PSA test.

PSAGraphene plans to build a biosensor that detects prostate-specific antigen (PSA) using graphene as the sensing material. Our starting point is a 2025 review of graphene-based biosensors for PSA, written by our founding team.

Why it matters: A review maps what has already been tried, so product design can start from the strongest published approaches.
The problem

PSA testing deserves a simpler sensor

PSA is a widely used blood marker in prostate health. Our aim is a sensor format that is easier to deploy.

One marker, many settings

PSA is measured in many care settings, so a compact test format could have wide use.

Many designs, little translation

Graphene biosensors for PSA have been reported in research, and turning them into products is the next step.

Choices need evidence

Picking the right graphene material and sensor design should rest on a structured view of the literature.

Our solution

A review-led route to a graphene PSA sensor

We use the review as a design map, then build and validate our own prototype.

How it works

How we plan to get there

A staged plan. Each stage generates new evidence before the next begins.

  1. 1

    Review the field

The founding team reviewed graphene-based biosensors for PSA and published the work in 2025.

  2. 2

    Choose the design

We shortlist graphene materials and sensor formats from the reviewed literature.

  3. 3

    Build and test

A prototype sensor is made and tested with PSA in the laboratory.

  4. 4

    Compare and refine

Results are compared with established PSA testing before any clinical study.

Who it's for

Who it is for

Partners who want to move graphene PSA sensing from papers to products.

Diagnostics developers

  • A literature-led starting point
  • A single, well-known target
  • Room for co-development

Clinical laboratories

  • Future validation partners
  • Input on workflow needs
  • Access to early prototypes

Materials researchers

  • Graphene sensor know-how

Where we are

Where the evidence stands

We are at the concept stage and say so plainly.

Review evidence only

Our base is a review of published work, not new experimental data from our own device.

No prototype data yet

Sensitivity, accuracy and stability of a PSAGraphene sensor have not been measured.

Not a diagnostic

Nothing here is approved for clinical use, and any future test would need full validation.

Frequently asked questions

What does PSAGraphene measure?

Prostate-specific antigen (PSA), using a sensor built on graphene.

What is the evidence behind it?

A 2025 review of graphene-based biosensors for PSA, published in Clinica Chimica Acta by our founding team.

Do you have a working device?

Not yet. Building and testing a prototype is our next stage.

Will it replace laboratory PSA tests?

We make no such claim. Any device would first be compared with established PSA testing.

How can I get involved?

We welcome partners in sensor development, materials and clinical validation.
